Strategy rules

Open a strategy from Strategies (Strategies), then go to the Rules tab. Strategy rules are available on Basic and Pro.

Use rules to turn your playbook into a checklist: what you must see before entry, how you manage the trade, and how you exit. After each trade, mark what you followed — then review adherence on the strategy’s Stats tab.

  1. Open a strategy and choose the Rules tab.
  2. Select Add rules (or Edit if rules already exist).
  3. Add sections (groups), such as Entry or Exit — or start from Add suggested sections.
  4. Inside each section, add points (individual checklist items).
  5. For each point, set Show when:
    • Always — on every trade with this strategy
    • When winner — only on winning trades
    • When loser — only on losing trades
    • When breakeven — only on breakeven trades
  6. Save.

You can rename sections, reorder by editing, and delete sections or points you no longer need.

  1. Open a trade and assign the strategy in the sidebar (if it is not already assigned).
  2. Open the Strategy tab.
  3. Check the points you followed for that trade.

Only points that apply to the trade’s result are shown. Open (in-progress) trades show Always points only. Wins, losses, and breakevens also show the matching conditional points.

Your checks save automatically as you toggle them.

After a point has been checked on any trade, its Show when setting is locked. That keeps historical adherence consistent — you can still edit the point’s text or remove the point, but you cannot change when it appears without clearing that history’s meaning.

On the strategy Stats tab, when rules exist you can see:

  • Overall adherence — average share of applicable rules you checked on trades where you recorded checks
  • Rule performance — per-rule follow rate, net P/L, win rate, and profit factor for trades where that rule was followed

Follow rate for each rule uses only closed trades where that rule applies (based on Show when).

  • Start with a short checklist — a few clear points beat a long list you never check
  • Use Show when so review questions match the outcome (for example, “Did I cut losers quickly?” only on losses)
  • Review follow rate after a meaningful sample, then drop or rewrite rules that do not help your edge
  • Pair strategies with tags for mistakes and emotions
