Recording cash transactions
Why cash transactions matter
Section titled “Why cash transactions matter”Broker sync and trade imports record trading activity. Deposits and withdrawals change account equity without being trades. Logging cash keeps balances and context aligned with reality.
1. Open Cash
Section titled “1. Open Cash”- Click + in the side menu and choose Cash, or visit Add trade — Cash.
2. Select the trading account
Section titled “2. Select the trading account”Choose the account the money moved into or out of. Create accounts first if needed — Managing trading accounts.
3. Choose Deposit or Withdraw
Section titled “3. Choose Deposit or Withdraw”- Deposit — funds added to the account
- Withdraw — funds removed from the account
4. Fill in the details
Section titled “4. Fill in the details”- Date (including time when relevant)
- Amount
- Description — optional note (e.g. “Wire from bank” or “Prop payout”)
5. Save
Section titled “5. Save”Confirm the transaction appears for that account. You can filter cash lists by all transactions, deposits, or withdrawals when reviewing history. When editing, you can also change the transaction type.
- Log cash near when it happens so monthly reviews stay trustworthy
- Do not enter deposits as fake winning trades — that distorts win rate and reports
- Pair cash logs with the correct trading account when you run multiple brokers
